SOCCER!

Friday, August 28, 2009

Last night was the first game for C! It was a hard game to watch for a couple reasons:  *The team he played against was VERY AGGRESSIVE. (I am talking going BODY not ball…) AND *C had an off night. Poor kiddo, he knew it once he got off the field. His little brother was a complete sweetheart saying, “I think your the best soccer player ever! You did well!” As much as C and I knew that wasn’t exactly true last night…I thought it was sweet he triedto cheer him up. They ended up tieing the team so in my mind…a wash. :P

*Update-after a roller coaster ride…T should be able to play on Saturday. It only took E to call and make some heads roll before they jumped into action. I do not care how it happened…just happy it did. ;)

Today I get to go to lunch with a good friend…and tonight I get to watch the new ‘Wizaeds of Waverly Place’ movie! Yes, you read that right…my boys got me into and now I want to watch! :D

Paperwork

Thursday, August 27, 2009

‘Sorry, I’m a bit of a stickler for paperwork. Where would we be if we didn’t follow the correct procedures?’ ;)

As any one can tell you when I managed in CO…I was very good at my job…being in UT is no different! I have been trying VERY HARD to get T ready for the season with his new team and it has been a little more difficult than normal. I have filled out papers, copied birth certificates, written checks, signed papers, and spoken to many people for T to change clubs. I have decided that there are ‘too many hands stirring the pot’ so to speak in his new club. Poor T his paperwork is everywhere but loose! Trying to get him ‘finalized’ and ‘official’ has been CRAZY to say the least. If everything is not done by Friday afternoon…T may not be able to play on Saturday. Yep, this Mama ain’t gonna be the one to tell him…cuz she hasn’t dragged her feet! Here is hoping they get everything done before I have to have someone else break bad news to the boy… cross your fingers!

Coincidence or planned?

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

This past week T has been ‘thrust’ upon seeing his old team. It has been strange seeing the parents (whom I never really talked to…) give T and and I ’odd’ looks. I am pretty positive we were not put in to a great light when we left the team, but it has been hard when we are constantly reminded T is no longer there. Am I sad we moved him? (He got his new uniform #4! He looks great!) ABSOLUTELY NOT, but it is hard when T had already made some connections with the boys on the old team to look the other way.

C’s coach has had C’s team train next to or by T’s old team…I am hoping it is a coincidence, but I am not totally positive. Hopefully, this will be the only week T has to deal with it. As for me, since I never really knew any parent on the old team…no big deal. ;)

We took Gator to the park on Monday while C was training. T had Gator laughing so hard…it was infectious. :D

Weekend

Monday, August 24, 2009

First off can you believe I took NO PICTURES this weekend? What was I thinking? :P

Friday found us playing out in back all afternoon. Gator went from the tramp to the slide to the swings over and over again. :)

We decided to do all our Saturday chores on Friday night so that we could play all day with family!

Play we did:

*The boys golfed with cousins.

*We then took the boys to Seven Peaks and we played all day with cousins, my brother, and his wife! IT WAS A BLAST!

*Yesterday we finally convinced E to make some cinnamon rolls. YUMMY! My bro and his kids came over for some treats. Then we took off and shared the wealth with the rest of the family. It was a fun filled weekend.

Today it is back to the grind and league starts this week. SOCCER, SOCCER, SOCCER! :D

Out of the mouths of babes…

Friday, August 21, 2009

Report from school:

T came home first. First thing he said, “Mom, I have the strictest teacher in ALL of 5th grade!” In my mind I was thinking, “OOOOO, let us see how this works out for T.” What I really said, “This may be a GOOD thing for you T!” Only time will tell… ;) *Side note: T’s teacher gave the children a binder for the first day of school-Tahitian Noni…we all laughed about it! :D

C came home next. First thing out of his mouth, “Mom, there are 20 boys to 60 girls in Concert Choir.” In my mind I was thinking, “HOLY COW kid, good luck!” What I really said, “Are there some nice girls in choir?” ;) He did have a BIG grin on his face…I will not attempt to guess. *Side note: I was also told we need 3 more 3 ring binders…maybe we should ask a Tahitian Noni guy! Hee,Hee,Hee! ;)

I made peanut butter brownies for the boys when they got home from school. As they were sitting at the table eating their snack with Gator they kept asking him what different animals say… It was cute when they started to ask about what certain people say… I had to laugh when they asked Gator what Aunt Holly says…his reply, “MOOOOOO!” :D

First Day of SCHOOL!

Thursday, August 20, 2009

“Okay, class. Optical orbits up front, and remember, we keep our subesophageal ganglia to ourselves. That means you, Jimmy.” – Mr. Ray

As much as the boys did not like me dancing in their rooms last night…both were pretty happy about school. C obviously tried very hard not to show his feelings, but T was very happy to see all his friends. :)

Bribery

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Yesterday I had to do a little ‘wheeling ad dealing’ with my boys. I wanted to get their haircuts and both started to balk at my wonderful idea. One wanted to grow his hair out and the other wanted a mo-hawk…you figure out which is which. ;)   Sooo, what did this ’smart’ Mom do? I bribed them! I told them if they got their haircuts the way I liked them..I would take them to Jump On It and they could invite a friend to come along. IT WORKED! :) Here are some pictures from our fun time at Jump On It! :D

Gator is getting so much better at keeping his balance with the big boys. :)

SDC11179

One of C’s friends (he is 6feet4inches tall) jumped over my boys. Gator cracked me up when he screamed and pointed, “HAYEE, WHOA!”

SDC11189

They had a blast ‘jumping’ T high into the air.

SDC11192

The boys getting ready to leave or ARE we? :P

SDC11197

I let each of them try the bungee cord tramp! You should have seen T’s face! ;)

SDC11201

C did a double flip! :)

Yes, even this Mom had a great time at Jump On It. A “WIN, WIN!” :D
