Yesterday was a normal day for me except for the fact that I got to and visit with my Mom and sister on my Mom’s birthday. We brought her over roses and cards. It was nice to sit and chat with her. I know this is a bit ’sappy’, but I am grateful for the fact that we are able to live so close to my parents. My boys knew them when they were much younger, but when they left on missions…they forgot many little things about my parents. To be able to live close and allow them to reconnect is HUGE to me.

I am soooo grateful my boy know both sets of grandparents. It just would not be the same with out their grandparents…

Last night everything the boys had going on got canceled, so we played some games. Then the boys found some friends and played b-ball until curfew. E was the only one who actually had training from 8-9pm. When he did not come home at 10pm as predicted. I decided to wait up for him…you know worried wife.

He came home a little after 10:40 and we sat up and talked for a while. As we settled down to bed, it was a little after midnight. (I know I am gonna pay for that today!) No more than a couple minutes we were in bed a BRIGHT light lit up our bedroom window. I was a bit freaked, and both E and I had no idea what it was outside. E even jumped up and ran outside to see if he could see anything…nothing. After that, it took forever to settle down and go to sleep. I was a bit uneasy not knowing what lit up our window like a SPOTLIGHT.

Woke up this morning and turned on the news…

As most of you know, (if you’ve followed me on FB…) A couple pounds have crept back on to my weight, and I’m not too thrilled.

So, I am back to a strict diet and MORE excercise to get me where I want to be. I have pretty much figured out my little ‘poundage’ was due to me baking (and not sharing) and a more relaxed work out. It was bound to catch me, and it has…so for now NO BAKING!

As I have gone a little harder on my work outs my back has been starting to hurt more and more. My sweet hubby bought me a back massage chair and I LOVE IT! Now, no excuses (not that I had any…please…I knew baking and light excercise was a bad combo). It is great!

I have no pictures for you this time, sorry. What did we do this weekend? I’ll give you the highlights:

*Went on a date to the gym. (I LOVE to work out with E even IF we do not talk after warm up and start to again when it’s cool down. He still gives me that look that pushes me…love it.) 

*C and T hung out with friends all weekend. (We had friends on Friday, Saturday and right after church on Sunday. I love a FULL home.)

*Went to a funeral of a good friend’s Mom. (It was also wonderful to see people I grew up with in CA. Her children did such a wonderful job sharing her life with us…very neat.)

*Boys played soccer in the snow, when it was snowing, and in the sun. (I was told the sun was just teasing them…it was cold! Apparently they both played well for being popsicles.)

*Hung out with my nephew and niece on Saturday night. (They brought a yummy dinner over and we watched the RSL game that came down to PK’s…we were all cheering.)

*Played games together as a family. (E kicked our trash in every game. Hmmmm.)  ;)

I know…what are the odds I would ‘blog’ twice in one day?!?! I just had an incident I wanted to remember and felt it needed a blog.

A couple of months back, T ask me if we pay our bills. I had to laugh and said, “Yes. Why, bud?” He then told me of this company that would not stop calling him on his cell about money. Today T left his phone at home and they called. At first it was an automated voice saying, “Thomas XXXXX, please call about an unpaid balance.” I hung up and thought no big deal. Then they called back again with in 10 minutes. Again with the same message. To me I was a bit annoyed, but can you see that through an 11 year old’s eyes? He was probably scared or not sure what to do. GRRR. So…I called back to get a not so sweet gal on the other line. At first I said, “Hi I am calling about a number you keep calling. It is my son’s line and is in no position to have debt at his age.” To which she responded, “Anybody can have debt Mam…especailly in this era we are living in…” I laughed a bit (probably what set her off) and said, “He is 11 years old and is in no way able to handle a credit card, home loan or any debt for that matter.” I did not hear her for a minute and then she said, “Mam, do you know a Thomas XXXXX? By the way you laughed it sounded uneasy. This IS the number he gave us and we DO have every right to try and collect our debt.” I then said, “I can assure you…you are calling an 11 year olds phone! Please take it off the contact info for this man and do not call again.” She quickly retorted back, “Well, If I find out he puts this number back on as a way to get in touch…too bad!” At this point, I knew there was no need to continue the arguing and said, “Thank you so much for your time.” She huffed and said, “You are not welcome!”

HOLY MOLY! GRRRRRR…SHEESH! Okay, I feel a bit better now. Thanks for letting me ‘vent’.

Most of you would not call going to the gym a ‘date night’, but I will…

Since the beginning of league and then State Cup, my hubby and I have not been able to work out together. To most, no big deal right? Not to me, he pushes me, he keeps me focused, and (the best part) he believes in me. The past 2 weeks every Monday (FHE-the boys swim), Wednesday and Friday…we have had date night at the gym. Now that’s a date I L-O-V-E! Thanks for being my ‘push’, hon!

Yes, yes…got a new phone that has internet and I have not really turned on the computer for days. Slacker is the right terminology for me!

We have slowed down a bit in the soccer world. C has had a couple outside games, but since the weather is turning…they will go inside next week. Both boys are getting ready to play futsal…next week. All the boys are involved in ODP. E is coaching and C and T are in the ’trying out’ stages of it all.

As for me, pretty much has been normal. Work out, clean, laundry, grocery shopping, running kids around, cooking and baking. Can not complain…life has been good and we are all blessed.

Yes, my phone I have had for the last 3 years died on me yesterday. Okay it hasn’t completely ‘kicked the bucket’ yet, but it has turned off on me twice in the day and the camera lens now has a crack in it.

I was complaining and E said, “Go get your new phone. I’m working. Happy EARLY birthday.” So I did…

I got a very new phandangled phone. I had no clue how to use it and had to have C show me how to even type on it. I am starting to love it but still trying to figure out what this thing has on it! It is crazy…I can watch YOUTUBE on my phone! Who needs that? My favorite feature so far is an application called ‘Calorie counter’. This feature gives me the calorie intake of most restaurants, brands, and even generic brands of food. I can even scan a barcode and it will immediately pop up with what I just scanned and the info about it. It is CRAZY!

So…if you call me and I do not answer and the boys do…it’s cuz I am still learning. You know the saying, “It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks?” Well in this family it’s TRUE!

Friday we went to watch T in his Halloween parade at school. Gma and I missed him when he came thru so we stopped by his classroom and gave him some love.

Halloween morning the boys had ODP try outs waaaay up North. From what I got out of them, they both felt good about their performances.

That night the boys went ‘trick or treating’ with their friends in the neighborhood. E and I stayed home and ‘manned’ the door. Now, when I say ‘manned’ I mean it! We went through 14 bags of candy of 50 pieces or more…HOLY MOLY! It was crazy.  I do not think E and I sat for more than 5 minutes in between doorbell rings and knocking.

On Sunday we finally met with the Bishop to get our temple recommends renewed from like 3 years ago. I have to say…it feels good.
